Tempered glass, also known as toughened glass or safety glass, is a type of glass that has been heated to over 600°C and rapidly cooled to increase its surface strength. It is 4–5 times stronger than regular annealed glass and, when broken, it shatters into small, blunt pieces instead of sharp shards — minimizing injury risk.
