During manufacturing, a metal oxide coating is applied to the hot glass ribbon and permanently bonded to the glass surface, providing stable solar control performance, improved energy efficiency, and long-term durability.

Compared with soft-coated Low-E glass, hard-coated Low-E glass generally offers better durability during handling and processing due to its pyrolytic coating structure. Depending on the glass configuration and project requirements, it can be processed through cutting, tempering, laminating, or assembled into insulated glass units (IGUs).
