Coated Glass Overview

Coated Glass Supply,
Built on Real Processing Experience

Coated glass is float glass with a functional coating for different project needs. Reflective coated glass is used for mirrored appearance, glare reduction, and solar heat control, while Low-E glass is used for better thermal insulation and energy-saving glazing.

Reach Building supplies coated glass selected from the same materials we use in our own processing lines. With 30 years of glass supply experience, we understand how coating uniformity, base glass purity, and color tolerance affect your real orders before they move into processing or resale.

FAQ

  • Q Can coated glass be used as a monolithic glass panel?

    A

Some coated glass products can be used as monolithic glass panels. However, due to the characteristics and durability requirements of their coatings, most coated glass products should not be used independently.Only certain products, such as online-coated Low-E glass and some hard-coated glass, may be suitable for monolithic applications. Before purchasing, please confirm your intended application with our sales team. We will recommend the most suitable coated glass product for your project.

  • Q Can coated glass be tempered or laminated?

A Yes, Reach Building provides coated glass that can be tempered, laminated, or insulated for added safety and performance.
  • Q Where can your coated glass be applied?

    A

We offer Low-E glass and reflective glass, which are widely used in architectural applications such as doors, windows, and curtain walls. These products are suitable for both public buildings and residential projects.
We also supply specialty coated glass, including anti-reflective glass (AR glass), heat-reflective glass, and ITO glass. These products are commonly used for precision instrument and equipment observation windows, museum display cases, jewelry showcases, and branded advertising displays.

  • Q What’s the difference between hard-coated and soft-coated glass?

A Hard-coated glass is generally suitable for monolithic applications. It can normally be cut to size and delivered directly without being fabricated into an insulating glass unit.Soft-coated glass usually needs to be incorporated into an insulating glass unit because exposing the coating may cause it to deteriorate, peel, or lose its performance. However, coating technology has developed rapidly. Under certain processing and application conditions, the practical differences between advanced soft-coated and hard-coated products may be less significant than before. We recommend confirming the installation environment and performance requirements with our sales team before placing an order.
