Project OverviewLocated in the core of Hongqiao Business District (Jiangqiao North Hongqiao), Shanghai, the Guotai International · Shanghai Center is a 173,000 m² commercial complex serving as the China headquarters and international operations center for the Guotai Group. Adjacent to the Jinghu Expressway and Hongqiao transportation hub, it features five 9-story office buildings focused on the fashion industry, with integrated R&D design centers and international business display areas.

Architectural Design and Facade HighlightsThe facade design blends regional cultural heritage with modern corporate identity, using layered metal and glass elements to abstract traditional Chinese tower eaves and Jiangnan garden aesthetics. Vertical shuttle-inspired components (drawn from textile motifs) and horizontal metal rods simulate historic pagoda layering, while woven curtain wall patterns create dynamic urban imagery with rich texture and depth.

Glass Solution ProvidedREACH BUILDING supplied over 65,000 m² of customized low-reflectivity double-silver Low-E laminated insulating glass for the entire curtain wall system.

Core Glass Configuration:6 mm heat-soaked tempered homogeneous glass + 1.14 mm PVB interlayer + 6 mm heat-soaked double-silver Low-E tempered homogeneous glass + 12 mm Argon-filled cavity + 6 mm clear tempered glass

Key Performance Parameters:

Project Challenges and Successful DeliverySpanning an 8-month production and supply period (February to September 2024), the project involved coordination with three curtain wall installation teams. Challenges included precise scheduling, safe transportation of oversized units, and maintaining quality across parallel operations.
